HB 2262: municipal zoning; rezoning protest requirements
(Click for bill language and additional information)

Sponsor: Rep. Weninger

Summary: This bill requires a zoning protest to be filed in the office of the city or town clerk by 12:00 p.m. one business day before the day the governing body will vote on the proposed change. It also requires that the filed protest be signed by the property owners opposing the proposed amendment. The League is seeking an amendment to allow a city that has adopted a more stringent filing time requirement by ordinance to continue using that ordinance.

League Position: SUPPORT – The League will be in full support of the bill once it has been amended.
